This project help secure water rights for downstream flow restoration which is a critical component of anadromous fish recovery in the False Bay Watershed. In particular, the project will release flow via lower Zylstra Lake during periods when the flow in the Creek is critically low or even intermittent. WWT has a long history of partnering in the watershed for salmon recovery and in 2012 we were supported by a SRFB grant to assess flow restoration opportunities in the watershed. Our 2012 report concluded the acquisition of Zylstra lake water rights are the best opportunity for flow restoration.
