    Project Description
The Salmon Creek Riparian Restoration Project is a coordinated effort the the landowner, the irrigation system operator and the Colville Tribes to compliment other planned fish recovery efforts on Salmon Creek by removing in-stream passage barriers, improving screens and diversion facilities, and increasing native riparian plantings. The project was developed in coordination with WDFW, NRCS and the Colville Tribes.

The project will replace an existing irrigation diversion structure, fish screen, and breached concrete dam identified by resource agencies as passage barriers for fish. Construction of the new diversion intake, control vault and fish screens, and return flow channel will be completed upon receiving authorization to proceed. Construction work within the creek channel includes establishing a series of drop structures to reduce bed scour potential. This work will be completed during the following low flow period. Following construction, disturbed bank areas will be replanted and the stream bed surface will be re-contoured as needed with round and angular rock to ensure channel stability and fish passage.
